Origin84 is pleased to announce Sara Gepp, of Close to the Earth IT Services in California, USA, as the winner of our ACES Conference Gender Equity Scholarship.
The scholarship’s aim was to deliver the next stage of our ongoing work to promote gender equity in the technology sector, and to more widely support our female co-workers in the Apple administration community.
We want to encourage women who work in an existing Apple consultancy or in the field as a consultant. We believe that through increasing representation of women at ACES conferences we can have a healthier environment, better dialogue, and a better culture within Apple consultancies and the sector in general.
“Through reviewing all of the applications we have received, I am certain that there are a number of women who are on the cusp of emerging into the Apple support community – and will clearly achieve great things in their respective areas.”
– Michael Thomsen, Founder, Origin84
Thank you all for taking the time to make a submission for the scholarship. Despite not being able to award full scholarships, we are grateful to ACES Conference founder Justin Esgar, who provided reduced rate fees for unsuccessful applications to further assist with their journey to attend the June 2019 conference.
In her application, Sara shows a deep desire to improve her consultancy through the employment of other women as well as participating in her local community, which aligns with the values of this scholarship of inclusion and participation.
“I feel that ACES will make a great positive impact on my business. For me, I want to be present in the community and continue to make a difference, nationally.
If managed services were a bigger part of the business it would help us to grow.
It has been a very tough time since the fires in California in November 2018.”
– Sara Gepp, IT Consultant, Close to the Earth IT Services
